Since, statistically, a woman is assaulted every 15 minutes, the clinic focused on giving women the confidence and competence to dramatically increase their chances of avoiding and/or surviving a violent attack. By providing valuable information about safety awareness, evading assault, and on self-defense skills, women learned how to stay safe at home in case of an intruder, when they are out in public, or in shopping mall and other parking lots.

All women and teenagers can benefit from learning basic hand strikes, blocks, simple kicks, and easy ways to escape from grabs or holds. The clinic was open to women of all ages, daughters, sisters, other family members, friends, and teenagers.
